Congratulations to members of the Richardson Rotary Club.
We recently received notice that our Club earned  the
2018-2019 Presidential Citation, awarded to clubs that
achieved 100% or more of their goals for that year.
These included increasing club membership, developing
sustainable service projects, giving to The Rotary Foundation,
and building awareness of Rotary in the community.
Rotarians, you met the challenge!
Last week, a $10,550 check for tornado relief was presented to Cindy Shafer, Executive Director for the Network of Community Ministries. Chuck Eisemann’s grant of $2,500 matched the club’s donation of $2,500; Club members were challenged to raise another $5,000.
They did!
Last Monday, Jim Adams and Radi Al-Rashed were presented with Paul Harris Fellow +5 pins. Each pin and stone represents a contribution of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation.
Gentlemen, thank you for helping the Foundation continue its mission of advancing world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
City Employees Honored
At our December 2 meeting, Krissie Williams, Supervisor of the Year, and Raymon Rush, Employee of the Year, were presented with recognition plaques and checks in appreciation for their dedicated service to the City of Richardson. Dan Johnson, City Manager and club member, spoke and made the presentations. Also pictured is Club President Ginger Mayo

A special program was presented that included a presentation by club member Jim Rodriguez (USAF Master Sgt., retired). The presentation highlighted The F.L.A.G. Program ( which was founded by Jim Rodriguez with the mission to teach proper flag etiquette and history to elementary school children. The program has been successfully adopted by schools in three states and will be implemented in all Richardson (RISD) schools in the fall of 2020.
Club member Becky Poynter, spouse of Ron Poynter (U.S. Army, retired) was recognized for her leadership in the development and passage of the Military Spouse Residency Relief Act which was signed in to law on Veterans Day ten years prior (2009). The bill provides protections to military spouses, with regards to voting, property and taxes.
