On August 23, 2024, City Manager Don Magner announced the appointment of Chris Shacklett as Richardson’s Director of Economic Development. Shacklett served as the Interim Director of Economic Development since February 2024.
Shacklett previously served as Assistant Director of Development Services-Planning, a position he assumed in August 2022 after having served in the position in an interim role for the previous year. He has been with the City of Richardson for more than 17 years, having been hired as an Engineering Technician in the Development Services Department. He also served as a Planner, Senior Planner and Development Review Manager before being named Assistant Director. Prior to coming to Richardson, he worked in the commercial real estate industry for four years providing GIS, marketing, demographics, and research support for The Weitzman Group.

The Club operates its Flag Program with the support of local Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Jr. ROTC detachment members who share in the revenue. Net proceeds benefit Richardson Rotary Foundation’s college scholarships (over $500,000 committed to 93 recipients since 1983), plus various club-supported programs and charities.
